40 years as a professor of philosophy, the last 30 at the University of Wisconsin - Madison. Published a few books, a bunch of articles. Specialized in ethics and social/political philosophy. Also history of philosophy (esp. Nietzsche). Planning on retiring soon. Probably have colleagues who think this is long overdue. Still seem to be out of touch with my Buddha-nature, but working on it. Enlightenment is hard to find and long to seek.

For some reason, this web site will not allow me to change my place of residence, so I will say here that I have moved to The Lost Sierra -- Lake Davis, Plumas County, CA.

School Story:

I attended four different high schools (it was a very unsettled time in my parents' lives) and MHS was the only one from which I have only good memories. Try as I might, I can only remember fine, decent people. That doesn't make a very interesting "school story" but it could be worse (trust me).

So sad to hear of Lucy's passing. We worked together on various political campaigns as seniors at Montgomery and stayed in touch as we both later attended SRJC and UCSB. A smart and sweet person.
